There are so many apps, websites, and games that are trying to market to your every need; however, in this post, I hope to share some of the apps that I think those with celiac/gluten intolerance need. For the last one, though, it's good for anybody and everybody!
Find Me Gluten Free
I don't have this myself, but I've heard SO MANY good things about the app. It can take your location and pinpoint different gluten free restaurants you can visit. This is especially helpful if you are traveling, as navigating food can be stressful in a foreign place. There are filters so you can find the perfect place, and what's more, if it's a new favorite, you can bookmark it. This is off a quick scan from the App Store.
I've talked to a lot of people in the celiac community, and they all say this is a must-have. Think of it: a celiac's worst, most trying time of the year (travel season), solved through this app. It's definitely on my list to get!
Yuka
I do have this app, and not only can you use it for detecting gluten, but it can be used for all products! It gives each product like makeup, skincare, packaged food, etc. a rating out of 100 depending on the chemicals and ingredients in it. That way, you can truly know what you're putting in your body, on your face. For example, my Summer Fridays moisturizer has a 100/100, one of the reasons I love the company. What's more, the premium version of Yuka points out when there is gluten in a product. Those with celiac or who avoid gluten know that there are so many extra hours spent reading ingredients, and with Yuka, those can be vastly shortened!
Nevertheless, I do firmly believe that you should still read the ingredient list, despite the confirmations of technology; mistakes can be made, after all, and when it comes down to it, you should only trust yourself and your eyes.
Hopefully, these are some good recommendations you might start looking into!
Until next time,
Genuine GF
